Ugala Theatre

On the eve of World War II, Poles and Jews study together in a small Polish town. They are classmates and friends. Occupation and war cut through their childhood friendships and bring unspeakable brutality and violence. The war ends, but the survivors must go on living, looking out for themselves and each other. Revenge and settling scores goes on for decades, until finally the moment comes to make peace with the living and the dead, and to live in the here and now.

Our Class, a play by one of Poland's most famous playwrights, Tadeusz Słobodzianek, is based on historical events. It has been translated into numerous foreign languages and staged in Israel, Hungary, the United States, Italy, Canada, Sweden and the United Kingdom, among others. The play has won Poland's most prestigious literary award, Nike.
